Let people build their own indexes of global development using their own weightings for key factors like GDP or literacy — the Human Development Index, but with your weights.

The first version was a 3-day hackathon piece and won 3rd prize in a World Bank competition. A later version for Italy (italy.yourtopian.net) won another prize.

My role: oversaw the technical side (and did a fair share of the coding) and developed the idea with Guo Xu; for the second version I project-managed — hiring a coder and directing implementation.

Outcome: these were ideas pieces. Some groups (e.g. OECD) appeared to take inspiration. The sites were archived and are still viewable.
