- 🤔 looking for a new terminal. Doing a plenty of AI related coding and finding the default apple terminal a pain. e.g. difficult to insert new lines etc. no ability to use mouse to move in text etc. Also would love things like being able to organize different coding sessions together (hey wouldn't naming these like tab groups on Arc be nice!).

Interesting connected to projects/Conscious Parenting https://x.com/jeremykauffman/status/2010539939289595942. I would suspect that Esther would be with this guy if it was done in a loving supporting way and with plenty of emotional cleaning and tenderness.
When one of my children was 2, he dropped a carrot on the floor and refused to pick it up. He was told he would not be allowed to do anything fun or have any privileges until he picked up the carrot. He refused for hours. He cried and screamed. He even napped, woke up, and continued to refuse. His commitment was impressive. We held fast. Until he picked up the carrot, he would receive nothing other than water and basic food to live. After over 4 hours, he picked up the carrot and apologized. It's the longest he's fought us to this day. Disobedience is a choice of parents. You get the behavior that you tolerate.

- Ghostty https://ghostty.org: Ghostty is a fast, feature-rich, and cross-platform terminal emulator that uses platform-native UI and GPU acceleration.
- tried out ghostty 3 weeks ago. that was very simple and nice … BUT it seems to have some weird behaviour where uses a huge amount of battery all the time. i dug into their issue tracker without success. So ❌
- Warp: thought about warp.dev again. i installed this 2y+ ago but gave up because it took over tab completion. This is still an open issue and it looks like it will never get fixed b/c it would require some massive internal rewrite. Plus the project is giving off slightly weird AI + VC vibes that make me concerned for the future. That said it is a very nice and if i could live with the weird tab stuff i'd probably go with it. Still considering ❓
- As an aside both chatgpt and google AI answers wrongly completely hallucinated solutions for this problem.
- WaveTerm new entrant AI + terminal space and open source 🎉. https://www.waveterm.dev/. But hmmmm. Booting it up it seem overcomplicated. I just want a terminal and then have the extra features sort of show up as i need 'em. Will have to see. ❓
