Reports that Matter

Reports That Matter (also known as PublicEnquiries.org) set out to gather and publish, in one accessible place the reports of public inquiries and commissions (e.g. Truth and Reconciliation Commissions, royal commissions, government reports)

These are archives of a society and are a treasure trove of high quality civic information and institutional memory – but are often buried.

The project aimed to make them visible again, online, in a consolidated and navigable form.

Inspiration

The inspiration came from the Truth and Reconciliation Commission in South Africa, whose reports were publicly available online — a formative experience showing how open publication can support collective reckoning and understanding.j
