Joe Brewer 3 part series on why he stopped working on applied cultural evolution

Reading Joe Brewer’s republished 3 part series from 2018 when he was director of the center for applied cultural evolution. In essence, it’s an explanation on why he was stopping doing the “cultural evolution” work he was doing then — or, as he phrases it in the piece, “Attempting to Create A Rigorous Science of Social Change”.

Wonderful series, that I highly recommend reading especially part II and III

My comments are mainly in hypothesis: https://hypothes.is/users/rufuspollock.

As an aside made me think about the curriculum work for a https://secondrenaissance.net and in particular that cultural evolution is the science that underpins the “growing up” strand of a second renaissance effort.
